26 Weeks

How far: 26 Weeks! I'm almost into the 3rd trimester!
Weight Gained: It'll be another week until I know for sure. However, I am definitely feeling very pregnant. The Summer heat definitely doesn't help at all. Shannon and I are planning on basically living at the pool this Summer.
Best Moment of the Week: I passed my glucose test!
Plus, thanks to the best in-laws and hubby ever Shannon's Big Girl Room is almost done. I have some minor décor details to finish and we're still waiting on the mattress and box spring to be delivered. I'm so excited to transition her into her new room! I absolutely loved her expression when we showed her the newly painted walls and reading corner. Her response was "Oooo!"
What I Miss: I'm already missing the cooler weather. I'm not complaining about the heat just yet, because believe me it's just going to get worse. (Why, oh, Why, did I have Summer babies?!) I just wished that there was a gradual warmth instead of going from beautiful 80's to blah 104! Gotta love Vegas!
Cravings: My cravings have calmed down quite a bit. I never really had any cravings when I was pregnant with Shannon, so this is all new to me. I'm just trying to focus on eating healthy with filling snacks/meals. I don't know if it is the testosterone or just me but I am ALWAYS hungry with this pregnancy. I am planning on making homemade popsicles for Shannon and I to enjoy on a hot Summer day.
What's New: There are some days I start getting really anxious about the baby boy's arrival and all that has to be completed. I start trying to plan out everything I can think of (room/nursery projects, new "freezer friendly" toddler meals, and even Shannon's schedule so that when the birth day arrives Shannon will have some what of normalcy). I have to stop and remind myself that my motto with the 1st pregnancy was "go with the flow." I will try to plan ahead as much as possible but it's important to not stress over things that are out of your hands.

25 Weeks

How far: 25 weeks! It still amazes me how fast this pregnancy is going.
Girl/Boy: Baby Boy
Weight Gained: I will know exactly at my next appointment in a couple of weeks.
Best Moment of the Week: Since we've already experienced our first 100* temperature here. I couldn't wait to bring out our fun water pad for Shannon. She loves it! Plus we met with some friends for a bbq this weekend.
What I Miss: I've been feeling so sluggish lately and I don't know why. My guess is probably the hot weather but it's still annoying.
What's New: Since the hubby had the day off on Monday, I decided to utilize that free time to go take my glucose test. Fun! Honestly, it's not as bad as people say it is. Other than arriving to the Drs hungry and drinking what tastes like flat soda, it's really not that bad. I've been told that the orange flavor drink is disgusting. I on the other hand don't mind lemon lime. I guess just base it on whether you'd prefer orange or lemon lime soda and you should be able to get through it.

Friday Find - Toddler "Zoo Lunchie" lunch box

Today's Friday a Find comes from Target! Of course! I LOVE Target and all of its goodies. I swear I could go their everyday and find something to buy. It's a dangerous, dangerous place... But oh do I love it!

This was actually a gift from my Hubby's Aunt but I'm so thankful we have it now. She gave Shannon a little bee lunch box and I immediately fell in love with it. Even though Shannon doesn't go to daycare or school yet, this insulated bag will be so useful for when we travel or  go to the park and want to have lunch their too. I'm in love with all of their designs (they have many to choose from) including this ladybug design. They also have a really cute fox one too! I definitely need to pick up some of the accessories to go with it!
Here are some examples in the store:

Easter Week Festivities

I'm not really sure why this post took me forever to complete but I thought "better late than never!" So here's a little look into our Easter weekend.

I love Easter time and the traditions that come with the holidays. Easter morning went the same way for years with my family. Go to church in our new outfits, come home and raid our Easter baskets (ok, maybe we did a little but of this before church), then wait patiently for my Dad to make ham & eggs for us, while Ben Hur or some other really old movie was playing in the background. Then after the mayhem was over... Nap... While golf was on in the background.
Ah, the memories.

This year we celebrated Easter at our home with my Dad. It was so nice to have him here to be with Shannon and take tons of pictures/videos. We started the morning with Shannon having to search for her hidden Easter basket (Lee's family tradition.) Halfway down the stairs, she spotted it and ran right towards it. There was absolutely no hesitation... she immediately ripped the stuff out of it. Hilarious!

Even though this wasn't Shannon's first Easter, this was her first time egg hunting. She wasn't really sure what was going on in the beginning but then got the hang of it. She had so much fun finding the eggs and of course, popping each one open to see what was inside. About half-way through she got the hang of putting it in her basket each time.

 Look at those baby blues!

It was such a great weekend, despite the exhaustion that comes with any holiday. I was so glad that my Dad was able to be here and share this special time with all of us. I love this picture (below) Shannon was playing with my Dad's famous foo man choo mustache.

24 Weeks

How Far: 24 Weeks
Girl/Boy: Boy
Weight Gained: I was pretty surprised when I found out that I gained 5 pounds this last month but I'm still where I should be. My Doctor is actually encouraging me to gain more but I literally don't know if I can eat any more! I think I'm right where I was when I was pregnant with Shannon. I'll know how much I gained at my appointment towards the end of this month, when I have to take my glucose test.
Best Moment of the Week: I'm getting so much done! I'm exhausted but at least I'm not stressed out. I will be super excited once I finish Shannon's lamp for her big girl room. I am tired of making rosettes! Plus, we finalized our vacation plans and are counting down until the days where we're taking walks on the beach. It can't come soon enough!
What I miss: I'm starting to get a little heart burn and I am remembering those days with Shannon. They are not fun! I'm missing a nice, ice-cold beer. It's starting to really warm up over here (It'll hit the 100 mark at the end of the week!) However, I treat myself with some yummy lemonade and pretend that it's spiked! :)
Cravings: Not much these days. My hubby was all on his own with picking out the meals for Mother's Day. I just want whatever is easy and quick to make.

I hope all of you had a wonderful and restful Mother's Day!

23 Weeks

How Far: 23 Weeks!
Girl/Boy: Boy!
Weight Gained: I was surprised to find out that I had gained 5 lbs. since my last appointment (which was about a month ago). Overall I've gained a little over 15 lbs!
Best Moment of the Week: I always love going to the Drs. and seeing the baby boy on the ultrasound. Plus... I was able to get a lot of little projects done. Not to mention, the hubby and I finally painted our Master Bedroom (3 years later!)
What I Miss: I'll try not to get too emotional here but I'm really missing my Mom. Mother's day is in a couple days and I just miss being able to tell her what an amazing mom & grandma she was. I miss our Skype sessions and just simply hearing her voice. I'm choosing this year to honor one of my best friends instead of focusing on not being able to call and talk to my mom. I know that is what she would've done.
Cravings: Ok so those little small chocolate chip cookies I've been raving about... yeah! umm! I've upped the ante. I've added peanut butter. A-MAZ-ING!

Friday Find - Hummingbird Feeder

Ever since the week before Easter, life around here has been go-go-go! I feel so bad not posting last Friday but then I remembered it's all good. That's been my attitude towards a lot of different areas in my life. No need to worry or stress over nonsense.

Anyway, this Friday find can be found at Lowe's for $9.99. It comes in 4 different colors (red, blue, yellow and green) Lowe's website sells them for $14.99. You can find it here I was in desperate need of a new hummingbird feeder after my last one fell and broke to pieces. Since I'm pretty much in love with anything rustic, I just knew I needed this for my garden.

You can either buy the hummingbird mix, either the powder or liquid. Or you can make your own for a fraction of the price! Here's the recipe I use:

2 Tbsp. of granulated sugar for every ounce of water.
You can also add red food coloring but that is optional.
