Halloween 2014

Happy Halloween!
Ok so it's officially November now and I'm just getting a free second to share our Halloween festivities. I'm still learning how to balance two kids and while still capturing these fun memories.

We started the week off with decorating some small pumpkins with stickers and sporting our favorite Halloween pjs!

We love the annual skeleton (glow in the dark) pjs from the gap or old navy. Connor is actually wearing hand-me-downs from Shannon's first Halloween.

Then Shannon had a blast painting her and Connor's pumpkins. They turned out so beautiful and are still sitting in the kitchen on display.

It wouldn't be Halloween without Lee's yummy roasted pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin we carved the night before. We chose a huge pumpkin, thinking we would get tons of seeds. When in reality, there were a disappointing amount of huge seeds. Oh well, they still taste yummy!

We also made ghost chocolate pretzels. Shannon had a blast... Eating all of the mini chocolate chips I gave her. She eventually got the hang of it and put some on the pretzels. Super cute and super tasty!

Halloween morning came and we played in our festive pjs and watched Mickey Mouse clubhouse. It was a pretty laid back day, for the most part. Shannon decided she was too excited to nap and was instead running around like a mad man in her room. She has recently figured out how open her closet doors. So she takes all her blankets, books and shoes out and plays with them, or lines everything up. Then she moves on to the dresser drawers and pulls out every. single. piece. Of clothing in there and puts it on the floor. Oh my word. It looks like my sister Amanda's room!

Anyway, I was frwaking out because she didn't nap and it was obviously going to be a later night. We got ready (braid in hair and all) and headed over to a friends house where we then passed out candy and then went trick or treating. Shannon loved it! She even went up to the not so inviting homes and stood there like a trooper. Lee was with her every time but she said trick or treat and everything.

We ll had a blast and can't wait for the next holiday to come. Both kids passed out  (Shannon's candy bucket in hand) in the car on the way home.

Catching Up

Gosh it's crazy how fast time flies and then you take a moment to soak it all in. Whenever life gets chaotic I seem to neglect my blog posts. So here is my attempt at catching up with what our life looks like now.

So obviously I'm not pregnant anymore (thankfully) I was so anxious to meet our little boy. Here is Connor Colin Worthey
Born @ 1:22pm
7 lbs. 12 oz,
19 1/2 inches long
It was a quick labor and let's just say I was glad it was over nd I was holding my baby boy. I will save the dramatic entrance story for mother blog post. Shannon is an amazing big sister and immediately fell in love with him.

Thankfully Lee had a couple weeks off for paternity leave. I don't know what I would've done without him there in the beginning.

Lee is an amazing father and I feel so blessed for all he does for our family.

Then... Reality sank in and Lee was off to work. Not only was he at work but he was traveling. Luckily I had some extra help from family members in those first couple of days he was gone.
Shannon has done so well adjusting to baby "comma". She loves give him kisses and says "it's otay!" When he's crying.

She has grown up so much since we brought Connor home.
She doesn't like to sit in her high chair anymore and the potty training has begun.

Connor is already a month old! Now I feel even worse that it's taken me this long to post anything. He had an appointment almost a week ago where he weighed 10.4lbs and was 21 1/2 in long. This kid is growing unbelievably fast.
He's such a loving baby and Shannon absolutely adores him. Whenever she wakes up from her nap she always loves seeing him and saying "hi, comma!" Yes, she calls him comma! I think it's hilarious and possibly the cutest thing ever.
I'm trying to soak in all the baby cuddles I can because I know how fast time flies.

He had his first bottle the other night! Thank you Jesus! It was a great welcome home present for Lee since he's been traveling a lot for work.

Happy Birthday Momma

This Thursday would have been my Mom's 52nd birthday. Since this was the first birthday without hearing her voice or being able to wish her a happy birthday, I decided to make it as special as possible. Being that I had just given birth less than a week ago, I wanted to do something special but still manageable for a Mom of a toddler and newborn.
I decided to pick up blue balloons (her favorite color) and have Shannon let them go. It was such a special moment and I'm so glad we did it. Shannon loved it too! I was nervous that she would be upset about the balloons flying away but she didn't seem to mind. She even repeated "Ganma" when I said that the balloons were for Grandma. I miss her everyday but I feel a sense of comfort knowing that she's watching over us. I love you to the moon & back Momma!

38 & 39 Weeks

Sorry for the really bad quality/point of view on these pictures. I've been really lazy lately on taking my weekly belly shots with my nice camera and then having to upload it to my computer.

I'm currently 39 weeks and 1 day. (I'm going back to my original due date, because the dr says he's measuring bigger anyways)
I've been feeling pretty good lately. I've had the energy to still take Shannon to her weekly music class and run errands. However I feel exhausted at the end of the day. I've been to the Drs, once a week for the last couple weeks and still haven't dilated yet. I'm ready to have this baby boy... Now he needs to be ready to join the party. Everything's set in the house, there's literally nothing else I can do to prepare for this baby. So "baby please come soon!"

Baby Boy's Nursery

It's finally done! Here's the Baby boy's "Vintage Baseball" Nursery. I'm still looking for some little things to put on the bookshelf. Other than that, it's done. Yay!

Catching Up with Belly Updates- 36 Weeks

Wow has life been busy the last couple of weeks. I've been so lazy about taking weekly belly shots. This week marks the last month of pregnancy and I couldn't be more excited and ready to meet this little boy!
I've been feeling more and more contractions lately and even had the Dr. check to see if I was progressing along faster than expected. So far, I'm not dilated (I have another apt today). However, the baby is sitting really low and could come a lot sooner than my due date! AH!

We are also busy around here getting ready to celebrate our little girl's 2nd birthday! Wow! The time has flown by. I'm really trying to take in every second I have with Shannon before the baby comes.

31 & 32 Weeks

How Far: 32 Weeks
Weight Gained: I won't know for sure until my appointment on Friday. However, I'm positive that I gained back the 3 lbs I lost while being sick. How could you not with the amazing seafood on the coast and don't forget the bbq during the 4th of July celebration.
Best Moment of the Past 2 weeks: We couldn't have chosen a better time to vacation on the coast. The weather was absolutely picture perfect. I couldn't believe I actually got a tan! I haven't had a tan in years! It was also amazing to spend time with both sides of the family.
What I'm Missing: Lately I've been experiencing some lower back pain. Back pain & a toddler = no fun for Mommy!
Other News: Since coming home from vacation, I've been in "nesting" mode for sure! I can't believe it has flown by and we still haven't even painted the nursery. I'm not stressing too much over it, since he will be sleeping in a bassinet in our room for the first couple of months. However, I would at least like to have the room painted before he's here.
Plus, we're still finishing Shannon's room décor. I swear I will eventually post pictures (hopefully for both rooms) before the Baby Boy arrives.

30 Weeks

How far: 30 weeks!
Boy/Girl: Strong baby boy
Weight Gained: Since the baby girl and I were dealing with a nasty cold (mine turned into a sinus infection) this last week; I actually lost 2 pounds. It will be easy to gain that back now that I'm on the coast, surrounded by amazing fresh food.
Best moment of the week: Obviously by the picture, I'm relaxing at our favorite beach in California. We're still currently on vacation and will be for a while. It was a much needed vacation/babymoon before the baby boy makes his entrance. Shannon has absolutely loved going to the beach and playing with the sand. I'm so glad she's over the "let me just shove this handful of sand into my mouth" stage. That was so exhausting last year.
What I Miss: With the fun of traveling and vacationing away from home, you also have to deal with the change in schedules and the just go with it kind of attitude. We have tried to somewhat stick to Shannon's schedule but there is just too much going on around us and she just feels like she'll miss out on something fun if she naps. She has going to bed around 9:30 instead of 7:30 and takes a good hour/hour and a half to fall asleep in her make shift toddler bed in our vacation house. Don't get me wrong, the fun is still outweighing the inconviences but it's always nice to be at home on a schedule.
What Is New: Even though I am just over 30 weeks pregnant, I am feeling like I should be in my last month. My energy is still pretty low and I have new aches and pains from the growing belly. I had a Drs appointment right before vacation and the baby kicked the monitor when the Dr was scanning my belly. This kid is strong and I'm feeling every little movement! Is it a rational that I fear I am further along than they say?! Note to self: finish baby's room once vacation is over!

Father's Day Gift

Father's Day was a little different this year. The hubby was traveling and both the baby girl and I caught a pretty nasty cold. Mine even turned into a sinus infection. Seriously?! I think you should be exempt from any illnesses once you're pregnant.
So we obviously waited for the Lee's return to celebrate and give him his homemade gift. I was so excited about this year's gift because I had thought about it a while ago and couldn't wait to start. He has always kept really cool looking bottle caps and I wanted to finally put use some for a craft.
I came across an idea similar to this one on Pinterest (of course!) It was super easy and turned out amazing. I picked up all of the supplies at Hobby Lobby (cement, molds and the cork bottoms) Honestly, everything was under $25! Gotta love that!

Well it was a big hit and I'm sure I'll be making more for the future ManCave.

We are planning on continuing the celebration of the main Man in our lives this week. We are so blessed to have you in our lives. You are an amazing husband and amazing father. The baby girl and baby boy are so blessed to have such an incredible role model as a father. We love you with all of our hearts.
