I am excited to share these photos of my friends baby. I had a blast getting together for our 2nd "playdate".

 

 

 



Shannon's 1st trip to California

Lee was able to take some time off of his busy schedule to celebrate his mom's 50th birthday. I was a little nervous to be traveling so far with a newborn but she was such a trooper. Shannon and Flynn slept most of the way and it was sweet to see Flynn check on her when she would get upset. I on the other hand am still getting used to packing and lugging everything around. Even though we were only there a couple of days, it felt as if we were moving back to California. About 45 minutes after we left Vegas, I reached down into the diaper bag and noticed that one of her bottles had opened and spilled everywhere. I had forgotten to put the seal inside the cap (way to go me!) Then a couple days later, when traveling to Valencia I brought the two frozen bottles... but forgot the nipples. (Seriously Ashley?!) It's still a learning process for all of us, ok maybe just me. I'm just glad my 2 month old traveled better than I did. :) It was great seeing family and was hard to come home. We miss them so much and wish we lived closer.

Our next adventure will be when we drive up to see my family in Sacramento... (9 1/2 hours)

Shannon's 2 months old

I can't believe Shannon is already 2 months old! She is growing up so fast. (I had to squeeze her into a NB onesie because I didn't have any 0-3 months in white.) :)

 

Weight: 11 lbs

Length: 22 3/4 inches

At week 5 she rolled over from her back to her tummy.

At week 6 she slept through the night for the first time (a total of 8 hours!!!)

She enjoys playing on her piano gym and listening to mommy read her books.

She also loves going for walks with Flynn and cuddling with Daddy in the morning.

 



Shannon's Surprises Mommy!

 

Today started out like any other morning. Feeding Shannon, walking flynn and tummy time in the nursery.

At 5 weeks and 2 days, Shannon not only was lifting her head for a longer period of time but she also decided to roll over to her back.

I had noticed the day before that she was swinging her legs back and forth. I mentioned it to Lee this morning that it looked like she was trying to roll over to her back.

I'm just constantly amazed by this girl.

1 month old

I can't believe that my baby girl is already 1 month old! The time is flying by!

I'm making sure that I cherish every moment with her, even the not so glamorous moments :)

I feel so blessed to be able to stay home with her and witness all of her milestones (and hopefully capture them on camera). I am blessed to have an amazing husband who supports us in many ways and who comes home wanting to spend every free second with Shannon. It's so cute to see how Lee is with her. He loves her so much and she has definitely brought out the emotional, cuddly side to him.

Shannon lifts her head!

What can I say... I'm a proud momma! I finally got Shannon lifting her head on video. This isnt the first time she has lifted her head but it is the highest. She's growing up so fast! I cant believe she's already 1 month old. (I'll post her 1 month pics soon)

Baby and Pup

Life with a 3 week old baby girl and an almost 2 year old pup has been a constant job but I wouldn't change it for the world. Lee and I rescued Flynn from a shelter in Arizona on January 2011. He is a lab and dalmation mix (very energetic) and is such a playful and loving pup.

So when Lee and I found out that we were expecting, we knew that we had to start working on introducing Flynn to kids. Luckily our neighbors have young ones that were absolutely in love with Flynn. It was reassuring to see him give lots of kisses to the kids and most importantly "not jump" on them. Once we started getting the house ready for the little girl, we practiced putting Lee's cabbage patch doll in her bouncy seat and bassinet. He alwasys did a great job guarding "baby Lee". He probably thought that I was crazy carrying around this lifeless doll pretending that it was a real baby.

When we brought the little girl home on August 8th, Lee stayed in the hallway with Shannon in the carrier as I went to greet the little boy. Lee's parents had brought home Shannon's 1st hat that she wore in the hospital so that Flynn could be introduced to her smell before we arrived. I then waddled over to give him lots of love and he immediately knew something was different with me (Where did that massive basketball in your belly go mom?)
Even though the transition has been interesting at times, we are so proud of Flynn. He loves this little girl so much and has become even more protective since we brought her home. He is very gentle and careful around her. He likes to check on her when she wimpers or cries. He's also mommy's little helper, letting me know when she has a dirty diaper.

 

 Life is good and I am very thankful that I have an amazing loving dog who loves Shannon Marie as much as I do. Good job little boy!
