My last week of being pregnant

38 Weeks Preggo!
I can't believe I am 38 weeks pregnant and super close to holding my baby girl in my arms. I have been going to the Dr's once a week for the past two weeks and he seems just as excited to meet baby Shannon as I am. Everytime I have had an appointment I get to see a little glimpse of her on the ultrasound and each time the Dr. always says how cute she is and points out her chubby little cheeks and her puckered lips. I'm just dying to see her in person!
Well today I had my weekly checkup with my Dr and he said that I am close to 2cm dilated and could go into labor any day now. He also said that if I don't go into labor on my own by next Monday that he's going to just send me to the hospital and assist the contractions along (What!?! Super excited!!!) I explained to him that this past week was the hardest week of the whole pregnancy because I am literally at home just waiting for her arrival. The nursery is set up ready to go, my bags have been packed, and the car seat is installed in our car. I am literally at home, eating and resting and trying to time my contractions (which by the way are 20-30 minutes apart but still sporadic). Lee and I are both so anxious it's driving us crazy! Whenever Lee comes home he always says "are you going to pop yet?" We are both just ready to meet our little girl!
So this is literally my last week of pregnancy! It's kind of a bitter sweet feeling. I am excited to get my body back (and have her stop punching my cervix) and to hold my baby girl. However, I am going to miss her kicking and hiccuping in my belly. This has been the best pregnancy I could ask for. I have tried to embrace every moment of it, from surprising our parents to aches and pains I'm feeling now. Hopefully, by my next post I will officially be a mom!

If you are wondering what I am holding it's a picture of my mom in a sombrero. In June, my mom was diagnosed with bladder cancer and has just recently started her chemo treatment. Since she is confined to her home and occasional Dr's appointments, my cousins thought it would be a fun idea if they made "Lisa on a Stick" (it's like Flat Stanley, where people take "Lisa on a Stick" and document her adventures. They then post the fun adventures she had with people on the Lisa on a stick adventures facebook page. I thought this was a fabulous idea! Thanks Tara, Shelby, Justin, Jackson and Aunt Cheryl!
If you could please pray for my Mom that would be greatly appreciated. Specifically that her white blood cell count would be strong and high enough for her to travel and be able to hold her first grandbaby!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 3 year Anniversary to the most wonderful man in the world! I can't believe it has already been 3 years since our wedding day (7 years since we've been together). I'm so blessed to have you in my life and so thankful that Shannon will have an amazing role model in hers! I love you so much!
For our anniversary we decided to go to the Bellagio's Sunday brunch by the fountains. This was our 2nd time going and we absolutely love this place! It's all you can eat (amazing food and desserts) and all you can drink champagne. I of coarse enjoyed all you can drink water!

College

This was a year after we started dating. We actually met on Valentines day, when I was a senior in high school and Lee was a freshman at Fresno State. Thank you Joe and Amanda for bringing us together!

Our Wedding Day

The most amazing day of my life! On July 10, 2009 I married my best friend! I will never forget this perfect amazing day.

The Start of Our Family

Now we're about to experience the next chapter in our lives together. I can't wait to have our little family of 3 (+Flynn).

I love you so much!

Babymoon in Cayucos

A couple months ago, we thought it would be important for us to take a vacation to the beach to not only have our last trip with just the three of us but to also give Lee a break from his ongoing busy schedule. We enjoyed every second in the 70' weather (nice change from the 100+ in Vegas) It was absolutely gorgeous weather and surprisingly not too crowded. Here are a couple of pictures of our Babymoon:
This is one of my favorite pictures! You should've seen us try and get flynn ready for it (pretty funny!)

Flynn became such an explorer this trip. He was climbing rocks, tree stumps and chasing after squirrels.

I thought this picture summed up our vaca. Soon it'll be four footprints in the sand.

Update on Nursery and more

Sorry for the long time no post! Here's my attempt to update you on the last couple of months. (just FYI you might need a while to read all of this)

As of today I am 36 weeks and I am ready to meet Baby Shannon. I can't believe the pregnancy is almost over and I'll be a mom soon. (It still hasn't fully hit me yet).
Lee and I have been working very hard on the nursery and completing any home projects before the baby girl's arrival. It's funny becuase people have been asking me if I am nesting. Truthfully, I feel like I have nested during my whole pregnancy. I don't know how I have enough energy or time to complete our ongoing to-do list, but somehow I do.
Here is a messy version of the nursery... I made the mobile and the canvas' from a pin on pinterest. The quilt and pillow on the chair are the bedding for the crib from pottery barn.  The wall decals (which are my favorite!) are from etsy.com, and I hot glued ribbon and the flowers to a cheap lamp from target. We're almost done with the decorating, we're just waiting for the matresses.

Also, some other exciting news! On the 4th of July, Lee and I traded in his black Toyota Tacoma for my Mommy car! It was sad to see the truck drive away but was quickly replaced with the excitement of the new vehicle. We were torn between two different types, the 2012 FJ and the 4Runner. I test drove both of them and honestly had a hard time choosing between them. Lee and I literally, went back and forth just sitting in each car trying to decide. Well (drumrole) we chose...

The 4Runner!
We absolutely love this car! As soon as we made a decision, we knew it was the right one. It's not too big for me to drive and it has so many cool little gadgets. I'm still learning what all of the buttons do.

I just have to say that I have truly been blessed by so many people. My coworkers and close friends from school threw me an amazing baby shower and blessed me (and Shannon) with many gifts. Here's some pictures: (sorry for the bad quality)

A teacher at school made this cake! It matches the nursery decor!

This is my good friend Michelle, we're the mischievious ones at school.

Thank you Tammi for making the cute little bird houses that I now have hanging in the nursery!

Here are some of my favorite people... Maria (left) is my pregnant buddy and is 9 weeks behind me, Tara (middle) is one of the most amazing bosses and friends I have ever had, and Jess (right) have all been great friends to me and I will miss seeing them every day!

I was very overwhelmed when I saw this massive box from the White family. Michelle couldn't wait for me to open it. They bought me the travel system we wanted. I am so very thankful for this family in particular because they supported me throughout the whole school year. I will definitely be staying in touch with them.
There are more people that weren't in the pictures that I wanted to thank. Lindsey, Barbara, Amanda, Kara, Madeleine, Cynthia, Nissa, and Jo thank you so much for making this baby shower and my time at Dawson absolutely amazing and memorable.

THEN.... (I told you I had a lot to catch you up on)
After Lee and I came back from our relaxing vacation to Cayucos, Ca (next post) we were blessed with a surprise baby shower (Lee was in on it, but I didn't have a clue). I wish I had more pictures to post because they decorated our house beautifully.

Thank you Crystal (far right) for putting this all together for us.

How amazing is this cake! They even added flynn (and all of his markings) to the cake!

Again, we were blessed by all of our friends! Thank you so much for helping us prepare for our baby girl! We love you all!

I think that's pretty much it for now. Here's some pregnancy pics even though they were almost a month ago:
Flynn loves to give my belly kisses. I think he knows what's going on with Mommy.

I'll have a more updated belly pic for you soon because next Tuesday is our 3 year anniversary and we are going out to our favorite restaurant Fogo de Chao. We'll take a picture before we leave!

24 Weeks Pregnant

I feel amazing at 24 weeks pregnant and also celebrating my 25th birthday with the most amazing hubby in the whole world. He bought me some of the cutest maternity clothing and planned an amazing dinner at a local French restraunt (he did all of this while also going through training in Baltimore) Way to go Babe!
Like I said before, I am loving and enjoying every day of being pregnant. I can't believe that I'm almost in my 3rd trimester already! It's going by so fast! I still have so much to do before the baby girl arrives. Ahh!

Lee busy in the nursery

Thank you to Lee's Parents for the beautiful bassinet! I can't wait until the baby girl is here to enjoy it.

Thank you to my parents for the beautiful crib! I can't wait to put the pretty bedding on it.

So here's a little sneak peak of the nursery! The walls are a light green and our baby girl's bedding is different shades of pink and green and yellow birds. It's super cute!
I'm planning on adding a tree decal to the right corner of the room and hanging her initials (that I made... I'll post those pictures later) from a tree branch.

Easter

Happy Easter!

I was so lucky to have my parents and my little sis come and visit me in Vegas. I was so glad they were able to come down and apend time with me and see the nursery (at least the beginning stages of the nursery). Sadly, Lee wasn't able to spend a lot of time with them because of work :(
I kept up the candy filled easter basket tradition and even made one for my parents.
Thanks again Mom, Dad and Lyss for coming down to spend time with me. Love you!
